Terms of Service

The agreement between you and us. It covers what Chico is, the one thing it very much is not, and what each of us is responsible for.

Last updated 25 August 2026 · applies to yourchico.com and app.yourchico.com

The short version

1. This agreement

Chico is provided by Fresh Pages Communications (UEN 53366238M), Singapore. By creating an account or joining a family, you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use Chico.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement.

2. Chico is not medical advice

Chico is a record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition. Always speak to a doctor, pharmacist or emergency service about your child's health.

The dosage calculator is a convenience, not an authority. It does arithmetic on the weight and dose you enter. It does not know your child's history, allergies, other medicines or the actual concentration of the bottle in your hand. Check every dose against the packaging and your pharmacist before giving it.

Chico AI can be wrong. Chico AI is the family assistant inside the app, summarising what you logged. Treat its answers as a starting point, and check anything that matters against the record itself.

The allergen check is a second pair of eyes, not a safety system. Chico compares the words in a recipe against the allergens you have listed. It can only find what you told it to look for, it cannot know what is inside a shop-bought sauce or a stock cube, and manufacturers change what is in a product without telling anyone. A recipe marked “no listed allergen found” has not been declared safe — it means nothing was matched, and nothing more. Always read the packaging yourself before cooking for a child with allergies, and never let anyone in your household rely on the app instead of the label.

Recipes brought in from a link are somebody else’s writing. Chico copies what a page says. If that page is wrong, incomplete, or has changed since, so is the copy. The original link is kept with every imported recipe so you can check it.

Never rely on a reminder to keep your child safe. Notifications depend on your phone, your operating system, your battery settings and your network, and any of those can stop one arriving. Nothing time-critical or safety-critical should depend on Chico alone.

If your child is unwell or you are worried, contact a medical professional or emergency services immediately.

2A. Translations

Chico AI can answer in several languages. Those answers are produced by a machine-translation layer built on large language models — the same class of technology as the assistant itself — and like any machine translation they will occasionally be imprecise or wrong, particularly around dosages, medical terms and times. The English record a parent typed is always the source of truth; the translation is a convenience on top of it. We are not liable for a decision made on the basis of a mistranslation. If an answer in your language reads strangely or matters medically, check it against the original entry or ask a parent in the family before acting on it.

3. Your account

4. Your family, and who you invite

Chico is built to be shared. There are two levels of access, and a separate invite code for each:

Only the person who created the family can remove anybody from it, including a parent. Nobody else can, at either level.

Both levels see everything. A helper cannot change much, but they can read your children's health records, medications, emergency contacts and daily logs. The difference is what they may edit, not what they may see — so invite accordingly, and treat both codes like passwords. If one gets out, ask us and we will change it.

These controls stop accidents, not determined misuse. They are enforced in the app and, where they can be, on our servers — but the honest summary is that you should only invite people you are willing to have read the record.

By entering information about a child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian, or that you have that person's permission.

Briefing the people you invite is yours to do. Chico puts information in front of a helper — the routine, the medicine list, the reminders — but it cannot make anybody read it, and it does not train them. If you invite someone into your family, you are responsible for walking them through how your household uses Chico: what to log, what the reminders mean, and what to do when something looks wrong. We are not liable for harm arising from a helper or family member not following the instructions in the app, or your instructions — a missed reminder that was delivered, a dose given against what the screen said, a log nobody made.

5. Your data

What you enter is yours. We claim no ownership over your children's records and we do not sell them, use them for advertising, or use them to train AI models.

You give us permission to store and process it only so far as is needed to run Chico for you — and, if you use Chico AI, to send a summary to our AI provider to answer your question. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what that means.

You can ask for a copy of everything, or have it deleted, at any time. See your rights.

6. The beta

Chico is in private beta. That means something specific, so here it is plainly:

7. Plans and payment

When paid plans begin, Chico is billed monthly per family, priced by how many children you track. Every plan includes every feature, and everyone you invite is free.

8. Acceptable use

Please do not:

If you think you have found a security problem, please email baymelody@gmail.com. We will not take action against anyone who reports something responsibly.

9. Availability

We aim to keep Chico running all the time, but we do not promise it. There is no uptime guarantee, particularly during the beta. Maintenance, faults, or a problem at one of our providers can all interrupt it.

Chico works offline for what is already on your device and syncs when you are back. Reminders need a connection and a phone willing to deliver them.

10. Who owns what

We own Chico itself — the software, the name, the design. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your own family for as long as this agreement lasts.

You own what you put into it. That does not change.

11. Liability

Chico is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

We are not liable for decisions you make about your child's health. That includes a dose you gave, a dose you missed, a reminder that did not arrive, or anything Chico said. Section 2 explains why: Chico records what you tell it, and cannot know whether it is right.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or SGD 100.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

12. Ending it

You can stop whenever you like. Ask us to delete your account and we will, along with your family's records, within 30 days.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if we have to stop offering Chico. Except where something serious or unlawful has happened, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to get your data out first.

Dormant accounts are deleted. If nobody in your family has used Chico for 60 days, we may delete the family and everything in it. Opening the app resets the clock; there is nothing else to do. Records about children are not something we keep around for accounts nobody is using — if you are stepping away but want your history, download your data from Settings first.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you — pricing, your rights, how your data is handled — we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use Chico after that means you accept the change; if you would rather not, you can close your account.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part of this agreement turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of it stands.
